The cold snow faded away among the plum blossoms and the spring breeze slowly returns from the tender wicker. On the afternoon of 24th February, all the mathematics teachers of Anqing Foreign Language School’s Primary Section gathered in the teaching and research office to hold the first teaching and research group meeting of the new semester, which was presided over by Wang Pingfeng, the leader of the mathematics teaching and research group. The main content of the meeting was the arrangement of the work of the mathematics group in the new semester.
During the meeting, Wang Pingfeng summarized the work of the mathematics teaching and research group in the last semester, and fully affirmed the teachers' working attitude and teaching achievements. Afterwards, Wang Pingfeng introduced the focus of this semester’s teaching and research group in detail and put forward clear requirements: firstly, we should organize and carry out good teaching and research activities, featured by top teachers’ demonstration lessons and young teachers’ open classes, advocating teachers to showcase their good teaching style in the form of ‘heterogeneous forms for the same subject’ and encouraging young teachers to actively participate in the class evaluation and grow up as soon as possible. Secondly, we should continue to do a good job in the ‘problem solving contest’ for young teachers and improve the comprehensive quality of teachers. Thirdly, we are supposed to proceed routine work, meticulously prepare lessons, and pay attention to the application of modern information technology. Fourthly, we should continue to do periodic homework checks, and earnestly implement the policy of ‘easing the burden of excessive homework and off-campus tutoring for students undergoing compulsory education’. Fifth, we are supposed to conscientiously prepare to carry out the ‘Mathematics Week’ activity based on grade level. Finally, the teachers in the mathematics group had an in-depth exchange and reached a consensus based on the work objectives and key work of this semester.
In conclusion, the new semester has raised the curtain, and the teachers of the mathematics group will adhere to the work style of meticulous planning and practical progress, and write a new chapter of teaching with sweat and wisdom.
